Senior Voyta Karas touched first in the 50 (22.52), 100 (49.97) and 200 (1:47.8) frees against Queens.
WAYNE, N.J. – Senior Voyta Karas (Brno, Czech Republic) was a triple winner as William Paterson (7-1) defeated Division II Queens, 180-99, in men’s swimming and diving action Jan. 20 at Wightman Pool.

Karas touched first in the 50 (22.52), 100 (49.97) and 200 (1:47.8) frees, while junior Andrew Scimeca (Lincoln Park, N.J./Boonton) was a double winner in the one-meter required (153.4) and optional (151.15) dives. Sophomore Edward Zappile (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) finished first in the 1,000 free (11:05.1), senior Kirk Smith (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) won the 100 breast (1:06.71), sophomore Jeremy Lim (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) touched first in the 200 fly (2:18.26), and freshman Mazen Yousef (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) was the winner in the 200 breast (2:25.77).

The Pioneers will celebrate Senior Day when they host The College of New Jersey Sunday, Jan. 24, at 1:00 p.m.
