Senior Meaghan Baker was selected as the ECAC Metro Region Defensive Player of the Week Nov. 3.
CAPE COD, Mass. – Already selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, William Paterson’s Meaghan Baker (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) earned the same award from the ECAC Metro Region Nov. 3.

Baker, a senior goalkeeper, made 12 saves while allowing one goal in 270:00 minutes of action. She had eight stops during a 2-0 victory against Montclair State Oct. 26, a win that locked up a home match for the Pioneers in the NJAC Tournament. Baker made two saves during a 2-1 win at Richard Stockton in the regular-season finale Oct. 29, and had two stops during a 2-0 victory against Montclair State in the NJAC Tournament first round Oct. 31 for her sixth shutout of the year. Baker has helped the Pioneers win six straight contests, allowing one goal while playing all but 45:00 of that stretch.

Third-seeded William Paterson (10-6-3) will play at second-seeded The College of New Jersey (15-2) in the NJAC Tournament semifinals Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 p.m.
