Kelsey Rella's first career game-winning goal lifted the Pioneers to a 1-0 overtime victory against FDU-Florham.
WAYNE, N.J. – Sophomore Kelsey Rella (Mt. Laurel, N.J./Lenape) swept in a pass at the post in the 80th minute to lift William Paterson (1-0) to a 1-0 overtime victory against visiting FDU-Florham (0-1) in field hockey action Sept. 1.

After being outshot 12-5 during regulation, the Pioneers began to get forward during the 7v7 extra time, and converted on their best chance of the contest thanks to a penalty corner.

Due to renovations at Science Hall, temporary classroom trailers will be located in Parking Lot 2 during the 2010-11 academic year. As a result, there will be very limited parking available for 2010 field hockey and football contests.

Hard work and competitive spirit have been the hallmarks of the 2010 William Paterson field hockey program's preseason workouts, two traits that seventh-year head coach Lindsay Bard hopes will carry forward into the regular season. “This is one of the hardest-working groups I have had, as a whole, during my time at William Paterson,” stated Bard. “The players are very focused on improving during each and every practice session.”

WAYNE, N.J. -- The William Paterson field hockey team will begin its 2010 season Wednesday, Sept. 1, with a home game against FDU-Florham at 7:00 p.m.

The Pioneers will play nine home games at Wightman Stadium next fall.  William Paterson will begin its six-game New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) slate Saturday, Sept. 25, at The College of New Jersey at 1:00 p.m.

WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson field hockey senior Jodi Feriod (Glassboro, N.J./Glassboro) was named one of 30 recipients of the American Kinesiology Association (AKA) 2010 National Scholar Award for academic excellence and leadership. Awardees were recommended by their respective departments and approved by the AKA Award Selection Committee.

WAYNE, N.J. – Six student-athletes from the William Paterson field hockey program were honored with selections to the 2009 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad, while the Pioneers’ entire squad was named a recipient of the 2009 NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award, the group announced March 26.

WAYNE, N.J. -- Several William Paterson student-athletes participated in the "Read Across America" event March 5, reading to students at John F. Kennedy Elementary in Wayne.  Members of the Pioneer field hockey, men's soccer and women's soccer programs read classic Dr. Seuss books to children at the school.

WAYNE, N.J. -- William Paterson field hockey junior midfielder Susie Mott (South Plainfield, N.J./South Plainfield) will sing the national anthem prior to the New York Rangers vs. Boston Bruins game Monday, Jan. 4, at 7:00 p.m. at Madison Square Garden.

Mott, a political science major, has performed the anthem prior to every home Pioneer field hockey contest during her three-year career, as well as at William Paterson club ice hockey games and other home athletic events.
