Senior Mike Guadango was selected to the D3baseball.com Preseason All-America Honorable Mention Team after hitting .419 last season.
WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson senior outfielder Mike Guadango (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) was named to the D3baseball.com Preseason All-America Honorable Mention Team, the group announced Jan. 19.

Guadango, a three-time first-team all-New Jersey Athletic Conference pick (2007-09), was a member of the 2009 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-America Third Team and the 2008 ABCA All-America Second Team, as well as the 2008 and 2009 ABCA Mid-Atlantic Region All-First Teams and the 2007 All-Region Second Team.

WAYNE, N.J. -- The William Paterson baseball team will begin its 2010 season Thursday, March 4, with a home game against Centenary at 3:00 p.m.

WP will play 18 home games at Pioneer Baseball Park, and will start New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) play Thursday, April 1, at Ramapo at 3:30 p.m.

WAYNE, N.J. (AUGUST 18, 2009) - Five individuals and one team will become the newest members of the William Paterson University Alumni Association Athletic Hall of Fame when they are inducted Sunday, Oct. 18, at 11:30 a.m. at a ceremony conducted in Ballroom C of University Commons, located on the William Paterson campus. The cost for the ceremony and brunch will be $21 per person, and those wishing to attend should contact the William Paterson Alumni Association at 973.720.2175.

Gerry Gallagher '74, the Pioneers' football coach from 1989-96, will be inducted along with Lesley Ann (Dube) Lubanski '03 (field hockey), Robert P. Matthews, Sr. '58 (men's basketball), Raymond Ortiz '02 (men's basketball) and Rebecca (Schirrman) Gruver '02 (women's swimming). For the first time in the Athletic Hall of Fame's history, a team will also be inducted as the 1992 baseball team will be honored for its national-championship season.

Join the William Paterson baseball program for a day of fun on the links Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009 at Black Bear Golf Course in Franklin, N.J.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Pioneer Baseball. The cost for individual golfers is $150. Hole sponsorships are also available for $100.

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – William Paterson seniors Will Courter (Roseland, N.J./West Essex) and John Elia (Emerson, N.J./Pascack Valley) and junior Mike Guadango (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) all received nods to the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA) Division II/III All-State First Team, leading a list of eight Pioneer honorees announced June 11.

Junior Miguel Lugo (Jersey City, N.J./St. Mary’s) and sophomore Mike Moran (Pompton Plains, N.J./Pequannock) were selected to the All-State Third Team, while Steve Coral (Totowa, N.J./Passaic Valley), Anthony Dorio (Lyndhurst, N.J./Lyndhurst) and Rob Somers (West Long Branch, N.J./Shore Regional) earned spots on the All-Rookie Team.

CAPE COD, MASS. – William Paterson seniors Will Courter (Roseland, N.J./West Essex) and John Elia (Emerson, N.J./Pascack Valley) and junior Mike Guadango (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) all earned spots on the ECAC Baseball Metro Region All-Star Team released May 28.

A member of the All- New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) First Team and the Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Mid-Atlantic Region All-Third Team, Courter, who moved from first to third base this season, led the Pioneers with a .429 batting average (fourth in NJAC).

WAYNE, N.J. – For the second straight year, William Paterson outfielder Mike Guadango (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) earned a spot on the Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-America Team when he received third-team accolades on May 22.

Guadango, a three-time first-team all-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) pick (2007-09), was a member of last year’s ABCA All-America Second Team as well as the 2008 and 2009 All-Region First Teams, and the 2007 All-Region Second Team.
